Introduction
Embarking on a multi-day horse-riding adventure had always been a lifelong dream of mine. With the help of the OutdoorHQ booking platform, my friends and I set out on an unforgettable trip to Lockharts in Canterbury, New Zealand. The anticipation was overwhelming, and the rustic experience we were about to immerse ourselves in filled us with excitement reminiscent of Christmas morning.
Setting Off on the Journey:
After meticulously packing our trucks and floats like a game of Tetris, we began our journey. The sound of “Wide Open Spaces” by The Chicks and the energetic vibes of Pantera accompanied us on our drive. An unexpected wrong turn only added to the adventure, extending what should have been a short detour into a scenic 30-minute exploration. As the sun began its descent, we finally arrived at Lockharts, where the welcoming landowners greeted us with rural warmth and hospitality.
Arrival at Lockharts
The landowners kindly assisted us in unloading our gear, which they later transported to the hut for us. We quickly saddled up, eager to embark on our three-day escapade. Upon reaching the hut, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the landowners had gone above and beyond, unpacking our gear and arranging everything inside. Their thoughtful gesture was further enhanced by a delightful welcome gift basket, personalized to our preferences. As we savored our beverages on the deck, our equine companions explored the paddock nearby, and memories of childhood adventures flooded back, evoking a deep sense of nostalgia.
Exhilarating Rides and Breathtaking Vistas
The following day was a whirlwind of thrilling rides and awe-inspiring views. Ascending hills and rising above the clouds, we experienced the unique magic of being on top of the world with our faithful four-legged friends. The camaraderie between us and our horses grew stronger with each challenge overcome, as they fearlessly tackled steep climbs and muddy patches along the way. The well-marked tracks on the property ensured we never lost our way, even in unfamiliar territory, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the adventure without worry.
Unforgettable Memories and Future Explorations:
The memories created during our weekend at Lockharts will forever hold a special place in my heart. The joy and sense of adventure were etched into our souls, leaving an indelible imprint. We eagerly look forward to returning to this haven at the earliest opportunity, eager to explore more of the property and replenish our cups of happiness. Thanks to OutdoorHQ’s booking platform, our dream of horse trekking in Canterbury’s private land became a reality.
Conclusion
Horse trekking to Lockharts via the OutdoorHQ booking platform was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the excitement of embarking on an unknown adventure to the warm welcome and thoughtful gestures from the landowners, every moment was filled with joy and enchantment. The breathtaking vistas and the bond formed with our equine companions made this trip an unforgettable journey. Canterbury’s private land access provided the perfect backdrop for our exploration, and we are grateful to OutdoorHQ for helping us fulfill our dream. If you’re seeking an authentic and exhilarating horse trekking experience, Lockharts should be at the top of your list. Start your own adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime.
